Shipping and Returns
How long will my item take to arrive?
One of a kind items are ready to ship. They will be packaged up and sent out within 2-4 working days of your order. However there may be times when certain pieces are being used for photo shoots or other promotional work and are not immediately available. If this is the case I will notify you as soon as possible and provide an estimated date which the item will be posted.
Items that are made to order do have a lead time. These can change through out the year depending on the season. My current lead times are as follows:
* Jewellery - up to 2 weeks
* Headpieces and crowns - up to 4 weeks
For any reason if it looks as if your item may be a little delayed I will let you know.
If you have a date you require your item by please ensure you add it to the shipping info at the checkout.
I need my piece sooner - are you able to get it to me in time?
I will always do my best to fulfil rush orders but please do message me first to check. I hold most materials in stock but now and again I will need to order materials specifically for an order.
How will my item be sent and how much is postage?
I am pleased to offer all my products advertised on the website as free delivery to the UK. Each item will be packaged in a luxury keepsake box which is made from recycled materials and is recyclable. This will then be packaged in either a compostable bag, cardboard box or recyclable brown paper. At times I use bubble wrap which has been collected from items posted to me or friends and family (I never buy new!) - please recycle this with carrier bags at your local super market.
Items are sent tracked - you will get an email confirmation with your tracking details once your item/s is/are on the way. Orders over £150 will need a signature on arrival.
Do you post outside of the UK?
I have sent my pieces to many countries including the USA, France, Germany & The Netherlands. I am happy to post to anywhere in the world and the delivery cost for each order would be worked out on an individual basis at the checkout. All items will be sent requiring a signature at their destination.
I am not responsible for any customs and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.)
What if I want to return an item?
Contact must be made with me as soon as possible after receipt of the item(s) to inform me that they are to be returned and in any case this must be within 14 days. All costs involved with returning the item will be borne by the purchaser. The item(s) must be returned in the same condition in which they were delivered with the same packaging.
Should you request any personalisation (change in colour / size to what is already offered) this will be classed as a commission and unfortunately can not be returned. You will be sent photos of the piece as it is made to ensure you are 100% happy with it prior to it being shipped. Changes in design may be subject to additional charges.
The item I have received is broken / faulty. What happens now?
Contact must be made with me as soon as possible after receipt of the item(s) to inform me that there is a fault and in any case this must be within 14 days. Please send photos of the fault. Depending on the issue I may offer a discount on the item or request it to be sent back to me for repair / replacement or a refund should you prefer. In this instance I will send you a returns label for you to attach to the original packaging. The item must be taken to a post office or delivery office to ensure it is tracked and in the system. Once the item has returned to me I will either repair or send out a new item.
Failure to use the provided label or to take the parcel to the post office / delivery office so the item not scanned and tracked via Royal Mail could lead to you not receiving a replacement or refund.
My order has not arrived. What now?
Please check your tracking information for details of how your order was posted. You can then refer to the Royal Mail expected delivery times as seen here.
If your parcel has not arrived within the timeframes outlined by Royal Mail please contact me to let me know. I will then send out a replacement . In the case of one of a kind items where it can not be replaced I will issue a refund.
Customisation and Personalisation
Can the hair accessory be customised to match the wedding theme or dress?
All of my made to order items can be made to your specifications. I can change the size, the colour the type of beading etc. The only items that can not be customised are the one of a kind designs as these are made with vintage elements. However the one of a kind items can be inspiration for my custom made service where I design and make something completely unique for you. See more here
Is it possible to incorporate sentimental or personal elements into the design?
Yes - I will need to take a look at it first to ensure that it is suitable for reworking but generally sentimental items can be used in bespoke designs.
Materials and Quality:
What materials are used in the hair accessory?
Each items has the products listed however generally I use Swarovski / Preciosa crystals and crystal pearls, freshwater pearls, mother of pearl, real gold or rhodium plated ear studs and chains. All items are hypo allergenic. The only materials I can no verify the make up of and confirm if they are hypoallergenic are the vintage elements within headpieces and jewellery. To try to ensure there is no allergic reaction I try to ensure the vintage elements do not directly touch the skin when worn.
Should you prefer a design in sterling silver please contact me to discuss your requirements and for a quote.
Can you provide details about the quality and durability of the materials?
All jewellery can be broken if not cared for properly - even diamonds and platinum. Wires will break if continuously bent, pearls will fade and metals tarnish if subjected to perfumes and hair sprays, and stones may become loose if items are dropped or bent.
I ensure each item is made to an exceptional quality with the highest quality materials (see above) Should your item become damaged please contact me to discuss a repair.
See care instructions below-
How should I care for my hair accessory / jewellery
* Avoid contact with water where possible (fresh and salt water) - take off your accessories before swimming and showering. Should your accessories come into contact with salt water then rinse in fresh (and if possible non chlorinated water) as soon as possible. Dry with a soft cloth and leave to dry fully at room temperature.
* Never apply hair spray, perfumes or other solvents to your accessories. When using perfume, make up fixers or hair sprays apply first, allow to dry and then put on jewellery and hair accessories.
* When not being worn keep your jewellery and hair accessories in their luxury keepsake box to minimise scratches and damage
* Always handle hair accessories and jewellery carefully - avoid bending and twisting wires and bead details, place carefully on flat surfaces, transport in its luxury keepsake box with plenty of tissue paper and avoid squashing / crushing.
* Check your hair accessories for any signs of wear and tear, such as loose embellishments or bent metal parts. Feel free to contact me if you notice any damage and I can take a look to repair / replace parts or materials.
Pearls need special care - to see more information on how to care for your pearls read my blog here
Comfort and Wearability:
How comfortable is the hair accessory for extended wear?
Wearability is key to the items that I make. I always hated wearing headbands as a kid as they gave me a headache. Because of this I ensure my items are as lightweight and as comfortable as possible. Once I have created a new design I wear it for a while to ensure comfort. My headband crowns are generally built on a thin metal frame which has plenty of spring in for comfort. There is an option to have ribbon covered bands or rubber band stoppers on request should you be worried - just pop me a message to discuss.
Can a design be adjusted for a different fit or to make it even more secure with my chosen hair style?
Absolutely - I have changed ‘wrap’ style designs to add a comb when worn with loose hair styles. I can add combs to crown bands and extra loops to headpieces. I do try to think of keeping items secure when making them and work regularly with hair stylists to get feedback on fit. It may be possible to change hook style earring fastenings to studs if preferred.
Style and Design:
How can I tell if the design will complement my planned hairstyle and overall wedding look?
I am always happy to advise on which accessories would work with you hairstyle and wedding style. I have a selection of hairstylists I work with closely and they are always happy to advise.
Are there different style options to choose from?
If you have seen a design but would like to wear it in a different way then please feel free to message me. For example you may love the double diamanté star pins but would rather a comb to go on the side of your head then that is fine - I can design and make one for you. Or if you like one of the crown designs but would rather it a more traditional tiara shape then please do get in contact. The custom made service means pretty much anything is possible.
